Morning Prayer

Morning Prayer

Pastor:  O Lord, open my lips,

All:  and my mouth shall declare your praise.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning is now, and will be forever Amen.

Pastor:  Give Glory to God, our light and our life.

All:  Oh, come, let us worship him.  Oh, come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise the rock of our salvation.  Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; and let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise.

For the Lord is a great God, and a great king above all gods.  In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also.  The sea is his, for he made it; and his hand formed the dry land. Oh, come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the lord, our maker.  For He is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.  Glory be the Father and the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning is now, and will be forever.  Amen.

Message

All:  Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; he has come to his people and redeemed them.  He has raised up for us a mighty Savior, born of the house of his servant David.  Through his holy prophets he promised of old that he would save us from our enemies, from the hands of all who hate us.  He promised to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant; this was the oath he swore to our father Abraham: to set us free from the hands of our enemies, free to worship him without fear, holy and righteous in his sight all the days of our life.

Pastor:  You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way, to give his people knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins in the tender compassion of our God, the dawn from on high shall break upon us to shine on those who dwell in darkness and shadow of death and to guide our feet into the way of peace.

All:  Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.  Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Pastor:  Almighty God, grant to your Church your Holy Spirit and the wisdom which comes down from heaven that your Word may not be bound but have free course and be preached to the Joy and edifying of Christ’s Holy people, that in steadfast faith we may serve you and in the confession of your name may abide to the end; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

All:  Amen.

Pastor:  The almighty and merciful Lord, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, bless and preserve you.

All:  Amen.
