Events sponsored by Bethany Lutheran Church are open to the public. Everyone is welcomed to join as we gather in God’s house.

Sunday school is back in session for fall! We encourage all children, their friends, and their parents to join us.

In September, Sunday school children studied the book of Genesis. The lessons were:

September 8: A Mighty Wonder – Creation (Genesis 1:1-2:3).

September 15: The Fall and a Promise – Fall into Sin (Genesis 3).

September 22: A New Beginning – Noah (Genesis 6:11-22; 7:11-24; 8:13-22).

September 29: A Call to Action – Abram (Genesis 12:1-9).

In October, the lessons will be from both Genesis and Exodus:

October 6: A Promising Dream – Jacob (Genesis 28:10-22)

October 13: Hope in Hardship – Joseph (Genesis 37; 45:1-10; 50:20)

October 20: Fiery Directions – Moses (Exodus 2:23-3:22)

October 27: The Egypt Exit – Exodus (Exodus 14)

We have a new format for Sunday School that is like the organizational structure we use for VBS. We use this schedule each week:

9:30-9:50 Opening (prayers, offering, and songs; all children together)

9:50-10:10 Bible lesson for the day

10:10-10:25 Craft

10:25-10:35 Snack and Bible lesson video

10:35-10:45 Closing

If you would like to help with crafts, snacks, or any other part of the schedule, you do not need to make a long-term              commitment. Just let Randy or Jen Groth know that you are available to bring a snack, lead a craft, etc. for a given week.  At present, it would be great to have helpers with craft ideas that line up with the lessons shown in the schedule above. We hope that one of the benefits of the new format will be allowing more people have opportunities to enhance our children’s Sunday School experience, even if just coming to help out for a week or two.

Apple Dumpling Time Is Here!

Autumn has rolled in so we are rolling out the dumplings!  Help support   Bethany Lutheran Church’s best tasting fund-raiser!  Buy a tray of 2 dumplings for only $7.  The gooey delights come with hand-made regular or sugar-free syrup, and they also can be ordered baked or unbaked.  They freeze really well and are completely  hand-made on site with a recipe that has stood the test of time and been passed down through seasoned Lutheran     bakers.  Tell your friends!  Surprise your neighbors!  These treats are not to be missed and are only made one month a year!  A sign up sheet will be posted on the church’s kitchen door or call your orders into the church         office.  Orders can be picked up on Fridays in October in our Church’s Fellowship Hall from 12-3:30pm.  Orders need to be in each week by Wednesday.  Any questions about anything dumpling-related can be answered by contacting our church office.

Evening of Music

Please be sure to join us here at Bethany for our Evening of Music program on     Sunday, October 27, 2019.  Come and  experience musical praise offerings       presented by fellow members of our church family.  Light hearted Christian music will be performed in vocal and instrumental settings.  Our programs are always planned in such a way as to be varied, sometimes surprising, and new.  Many of our fellow church family members are  diligently utilizing their God-given musical talents as they prepare for this musical experience.  Our musical event is scheduled for the evening of Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 7:30 PM in Bethany’s fellowship hall.  Please mark your calendars and join us for a presentation of music in honor of our Lord.
